The bald middle-aged man with the same catfish-whisker beard wore a grim expression. He stood ready in a small plaza with a group of robots clad in blue briefs. Having heard far too many opinions, he had decided to play it safe by making himself the final boss, awaiting the arrival of the escape room's customers.
When the two sides came face-to-face, he did not even look at the three humans. Instead, he fixed the ape with a venomous, crazed stare.
Perhaps he wanted to rip out Bobo's tongue?
"You damned monkey! You said my maze wasn't good enough?! You said I'm inferior to Scott?!" Doctor Bedlam clenched his fists and screamed as though the muscles in his face were about to split apart. He jumped wildly in place in hysterics, pointed at Bobo, and cursed, "I'll kill you, you damned bug! A maggot barely clinging to life at the bottom of the Fire Pits! I hate you! I curse you!!!"
How should he put it? Su Ming found it rather bland.
Zaun culture was not particularly popular on Apokolips. The New Gods generally spoke with their fists and technology. Trading insults was their weakness.
The nastiest thing they could say over there was little more than calling someone a bug from the Fire Pits.
Whether they were underlings who disobeyed orders or losers who failed their missions, many were thrown directly into the Fire Pits for execution. They were burned as fuel, providing energy for the entire planet and for Darkseid, or refined into Black Diamonds to manufacture advanced weapons.
The Fire Pits on Apokolips were not the small version on Sepulk. The original Fire Pits were more like an enormous basin—or rather, a Mediterranean Sea made of crimson flames.
It was true that raging Omega Energy blazed within
