"Why are Blood King's men wearing green cloaks?"
After sending off the children they had rescued, the master and apprentice headed toward a Teleportation Portal hidden in an alleyway within the city. Magik suddenly seemed to remember something and raised this question:
"Since he's called the Blood King, shouldn't blood be red? Could radiation have turned all his blood green?"
"Besides radiation, green blood can also be caused by 'harmony,' but that's another matter." Walking through the dark alley and stepping over the corpse of a homeless man lying by the roadside, Su Ming searched for the secret location from his new memories. "As for the Blood King, he looks more like a skinned Alien, with red muscle tissue exposed beneath. Calling him a demon would be wrong, but calling him human wouldn't fit either. You can regard him as some kind of mutant."
"So he likes red and green together? What awful taste."
Illyana immediately mocked him. Just imagining a skinless Alien made her want to laugh.
"Decades ago, red and green might have counted as a fashion trend, but on 40K Earth now, Vision is probably the only one who dresses like that." Deathstroke stopped and lifted a manhole cover beside his feet. Beneath it was one of those "wolves'" operational bases.
It was not large, but it was spacious enough for a transfer station. There were simply rather too many corpses piled inside. Who knew what they were thinking—perhaps food reserves?
But none of that mattered. There was a new Doorway here, one that could serve as a shortcut to the End World.
"Looks like we'll have to come back for North Central Positronics' research data next time. Come on, we'll take a shortcut. The good show I wanted you to see happens to be there too."
