"The souls from other Parallel Universes are indeed more or less what I expected. But if I'm going to arrange their future purpose, now isn't the time."
Su Ming tossed Old Mephisto a cigarette and pulled one out for himself. Man and demon continued toward the nearby pavilion in the garden as he brought up the souls of Parallel Universes.
Hellfire sprang from Mephisto's fingertips. He leaned over to light the Sorcerer Supreme's cigarette first, then his own.
After taking a deep drag, Old Mephisto nodded and smiled as he opened his laptop to check the data.
"That's not for me to decide. You need to speak with Lady Death, because I'm only responsible for extracting the sins souls committed in life as energy, making them howl in pain and regret. Once they've lost their usefulness, they're sent here, where the great lady arranges their next Life Cycle."
Simply put, if Death sold clothes, then Old Mephisto was the one who collected them, washed the secondhand garments, and repackaged them.
He demanded no payment, only the black water left over from washing those clothes. That was how he survived, and that was why he could involve himself in the chain of the soul cycle.
"Pfft, great lady?" Su Ming chuckled and patted Mephisto on the arm. "Since when did you become better at flattering people than Thanos? I still prefer the unruly way you were back in Hell."
"Hahahahaha! I'm a demon. Everything I do is for profit, and today is no exception. Of course I admit that. But if we're talking about who is more skilled in the art of language, Thanos has never been my equal. After all, by human standards, I'm still a businessman."
It seemed the recent major event of colliding universes had frightened Mephisto somewhat.
