"Who wants to be some god? I'm naturally human, and I'm not dead either. This isn't Dream Communication. Look over here." Seeing Arthur's dumbfounded expression, Su Ming gave him a slightly speechless reminder. "Arthur, behind you."
The scratching Aquaman turned around. When he saw Deathstroke's holographic avatar floating in midair, he wiped the foam from his beard and threw open his arms with a hearty laugh.
"Oh, Slade, my brother! So this is how you're talking. I know, this is high-tech, right? Haha, I get it. I was just kidding. I really get it."
As he spoke, though, he started looking a little guilty. It was obvious at a glance that he was covering something up.
Su Ming smiled and shook his head, too lazy to investigate whether Arthur truly understood the principles behind multiversal communication. He got straight to the point instead.
"Arthur, can you use your Life Force in other multiverses?"
The high-EQ way of putting it: Could he use his Life Force in other universes?
The low-EQ way of putting it: Could he talk to fish from other multiverses?
Aquaman was still holding a bottle of liquor in midair, stroking his thick beard uncertainly.
"I've never tried it, but I probably can? Let's establish something first. In the multiverse you're talking about, fish means flesh-and-blood creatures with gills and fins that live in water, right?"
After saying that, he even imitated the swimming motions of a bug-eyed goldfish, quickly pacing in a circle around his little living room.
He was worried that in another multiverse, Deathstroke might point at mechanical grizzly bears swimming through the water and tell him those were the local fish. Then he would be completely helpless.
To be fair, his concern made sense. Different universes did sometimes define living creatures differently, such as
