Oshtur had stayed in that world for tens of thousands of years. Around 16,000 BC by Earth-616's calendar in the Marvel Universe, she began to miss home.
After guarding Cimmeria for so long without any sign of the Eye Demon returning, it should have been safe, right?
She wielded Mystic Side power, but for safety's sake, she had not taught the Cimmerians how to use it. So after all those tens of thousands of years, the natives were still stuck in a tribal society, with bows and arrows as their greatest invention.
Because the Goddess had taken such good care of them, quite a few people had even developed a dependency on bird-people.
Oshtur took one look and decided that would not do. Wasn't she disrupting their natural path of evolution? She had to leave.
That same year, a blacksmith from the Snow Hawk Tribe in the mountains of Cimmeria had a son with his wife. They named the child Conan.
The moment the child was born, Oshtur felt that he was extraordinary. She postponed her departure by several more years, and only after seeing Conan display courage and ferocity comparable to a God Eater did she send angels to bring the boy to Akamat, where she personally rubbed his head a few times.
She said nothing and simply had the boy sent back.
Then, one night, she secretly tossed a special meteorite to the boy's father. She told him it was called Star Iron and could be forged into powerful weapons. In the right hands, it could even kill any evil god.
The boy was the right person, but he still needed experience. Once he turned ten, he could set out to travel the world.
When the time was right, the Star Iron sword would be given to him.
