In the silent mountain valley at night, Jason raised the Blade of the Great Caste, transformed into a short sword, and gestured a few times before a steep cliff face, making all sorts of ritualistic movements like a shaman performing a dance.
A moment later, he lowered the weapon, turned to the others, and said:
"All right, follow me in. We'll be teleported to the Great Hall, where the Great Caste used to train and practice martial arts together. But take a deep breath of the fresh air outside first. Prepare yourselves."
"Why do you say that?" Arthur was clearly curious about this. Actually, he was even more curious whether the Blade of the Great Caste could turn into a trident.
Hearing the question, Jason sighed. He hated Batwoman's habit of refusing to give people answers, so he especially enjoyed clearing up other people's doubts.
"I trained here before. After I came back to life, I returned to further my martial arts training. But later, because of a series of complicated events, the Great Caste was nearly wiped out. The Great Hall was the battlefield back then. You could say the ground was littered with corpses. I haven't been here in a while, so those bodies may be in the process of rotting and decomposing now."
What he meant was that the smell might not be very pleasant. After all, it was a pile of corpses. Even the bodies of one's benefactors were still corpses. They could not possibly smell fragrant after death just because they had treated him well in life, right?
Reality would not change because of subjective feelings. Especially not here—within the Hall of Everything, Reverse Magic was in effect. No magic could function here.
"Wait, you mean they were your benefactors, but you didn't bury them?"
