Reverse-Flash's obsession with Barry had long since turned him into a lunatic. In his eyes, the other villains were merely shooting stars that flashed past Barry's life. Only he could stay with Barry forever, running on through countless Time Points.
Without Super Villains, Superheroes would have no reason to exist. Just imagining Barry retiring and growing old after the world became peaceful made Swann's heart ache so badly he could barely breathe.
So he used every possible means to make Barry run—run without end, never stop.
He knew he was doing evil, but he did it deliberately. To prove that The Flash needed to exist, he had to become Reverse-Flash.
Jesse was left speechless by the madman for a moment, because she had indeed noticed that Earth-0's Reverse-Flash was stronger than the one she had known before.
Not only was the electricity coursing through him stronger, but even his thoughts carried a deeper darkness.
"Dr. Swann, you are free. Everything before was a misunderstanding. The bosses have invited you to a banquet at the Business Association tomorrow evening to discuss holding a competition."
The guards released Swann, and a secretary-like figure came in to say a few words, his face covered in a humble, ingratiating smile.
"Thank you. I'll be there on time, hehe."
A flash of red lightning, and Reverse-Flash vanished from the cell. Almost at the exact same moment, Reverse-Flash, already changed into his uniform, appeared beside Deathstroke and finished his sentence through the barrier:
"But today, I'll be having a small gathering with friends. Could you arrange a more spacious new home for me? Preferably one with a swimming pool."
The answer was, of course, yes. As long as he could create enough value for the capitalists, a duplex penthouse atop a skyscraper was hardly any price
