At first glance, it seemed like a beautiful, lush, fantastical world. After leaving the gates of Castle Grayskull and passing through the narrow cliffs into the forest, they could see many lovely birds perched in the treetops, along with snow-white mustangs frolicking among the trees.
But only the natural environment was relatively peaceful. Etheria was actually a standard dystopian world.
A force known as The Horde ruled this place. Its style was much like that of the Nazis, following the usual doctrines of control and terror.
The Horde's highest-ranking officer in Etheria was currently named Hordak. He was a strange creature who looked somewhat like a robot, a powerful sorcerer skilled in all sorts of transformations, and quite a capable inventor as well.
For example, the technique of using slime as a medium to transform people into mindless, obedient zombies was his contribution.
The Horde's supreme leader was called Horde Prime, though he was absent from Etheria most of the time.
Horde Prime was a Multiversal Level being who controlled countless worlds. Hordak was merely the Archon of Etheria, one world among them.
Sometimes, people from above would be sent down to supervise Hordak's work, such as demanding that he suppress the Rebels as soon as possible. Those inspectors or overseers could yell at him whenever they pleased, treating this governor with absolutely no respect.
So Su Ming felt that Hordak had it pretty rough. After all, his adopted daughter led the Rebels in guerrilla warfare against him every day, his superiors constantly pressured him from above, and his apprentice Skeletor was eyeing this place covetously from a Parallel World.
