"Things aren't looking too good on Batwoman's side. No one's been lost yet, but half of them are already wounded. Darkseid hasn't fully mastered the Speed Force Plane he created, yet he can already control the time and space within it. Good thing Deathstroke hid Barry."
Luthor stood in the command room of the Fortress of Doom, speaking with Brainiac, who was busy beside him. Vast projection screens filled the hall, currently displaying the battle on the target planet.
With his numerous drones and skull ships, the green bald man was quite skilled at surveillance. Rather than saying Luthor was fighting this war, it would be more accurate to say that Brainiac was commanding the current campaign.
"Are you wondering whether, if you were in Batwoman's place, you could have brought everyone out alive?" the busy robot asked.
But Luthor did not answer. Instead, he countered with a question.
"You've seen Cyborg's condition. So have you ever considered becoming human?"
"If I said I hadn't, would you and Deathstroke eliminate me in the future?" Brainiac continued processing every command from the battlefield. Every explosion and every spray of blood in the projections flashed through his pupils.
Luthor fell silent, perhaps analyzing the question. After a moment, he shook his head. "Neither of us would, because there's no benefit in killing you. It would be wasted effort. You've always wanted emotions, to experience joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. I simply think this is a shortcut."
"I am still observing this technology's stability. Deathstroke is working with Brainiac 21. If the flesh-and-blood conversion technology is used on her and proves genuinely reliable, I will consider making a deal with Deathstroke. The current probability is 67%, and still rising."
The intelligent robot did not spend much time thinking. He simply stated his plan.
