After greeting Thomas, Mack drove back through the repaired gate, while Martha led those people toward the observatory's back entrance on foot.

"This is so fun! I saved eleven people today. There were originally twenty, but unfortunately, some of them wanted to take Mack's gun and had some improper thoughts about me, so I killed them all. Hee-hee!"

She spun around in front of Deathstroke as if showing off, demonstrating that she was completely unharmed.

There really were a few little troublemakers among the survivors, but they were all a rabble. In Gotham, they would not even survive on the streets and could only end up as sewer sludge.

"You're just so amazing." Thomas stroked the girl's cheek and kissed her forehead again. "You brought them here because you wanted to help me? No need. Fixing fences is my game. Take them straight into the base. Not everyone can stay out in the rain for long. If they get sick, we don't have much medicine in reserve."

"No help needed? All right, then. I'll get them settled first. Hurry up and come in for dinner." The girl spread her hands, then looked at the new gate Deathstroke had built out of trash. Its front was a barrier pieced together from two large vehicle hoods, which could be lifted automatically by a small motor and pulley system behind it.

Though it was rather shabby and did not look very defensive, it was full of Wasteland style, earning Deathstroke a string of approving nods from Harley.

This was exactly the feeling she wanted. When playing a game, the scene design mattered too.

"Got it. Once I finish this bit of work." He met the gazes of the people sizing him up in the crowd, flexed his wrists, and revealed that fake Marine
