What Deathstroke was thinking, nobody knew. Shuri simply led the way, and after passing through layer upon layer of security, they soon arrived at the entrance to the Research Center mentioned earlier.
Along the way, Peter's Spider-Sense kept going off. He felt a needle-like pain prickling across his back.
He leaned closer to Storm and whispered:
"Those guards don't seem to like you. What did you do to them?"
Little Bug was referring to Wakanda's Royal Guard. Those strong, bald Black women were outwardly respectful toward Ororo, but behind her back, they stared at the stylish woman from the United States as though she had murdered their fathers.
Even without Strangle's three-hundred-and-sixty-degree vision, Su Ming could sense those women's envy, jealousy, and resentment toward Storm.
"Nothing." Storm sighed. As a teacher, she looked at Peter as though he were one of her students, and affectionately ruffled the boy's hair. "I'm called a Goddess in Africa. Maybe they were disappointed when they found out I was mortal and was still going to get married?"
Following behind them, Su Ming merely smiled without saying anything, having no intention of explaining.
In fact, Wakanda was somewhat like Asgard in this regard. Sif was Frigga's Guard Captain precisely so she could have more contact with Thor and develop feelings for him.
Wakanda's Royal Guard was much the same. If Storm had not stepped in, one of those bald Black women would originally have become Queen.
They had been taught to be absolutely loyal to the royal family and give all their love to their future sovereign. Storm had effectively stolen their husband, so it was already polite enough that they could keep up appearances.
But this was someone else's family business. Su Ming could not be bothered to interfere, nor was there any need
