"Can't it see you?"

As Deathstroke entered the Siege of thorns, he asked Death, who had her arm wrapped around his. She was clearly right here, yet the little demon guarding the gate had acted as though she did not exist at all.

Hadn't the female guests been forgotten whenever no one called out for them?

"The prerequisite for seeing me is that one must possess an awareness of death. That little demon seems to have been born not long ago. He does not know what death means."

Death answered with a smile and reached out to touch a red flower on the black thorns. The instant she touched it, the blossom withered, turning into a pile of black ash that fell to the ground.

She shook her head, not having expected to find such fragile life in Hell.

"So if someone doesn't know what death means, do they not have to die?" Su Ming walked through the passage formed by thorns. Firelight from the distant sky shone through the gaps, casting mottled shadows over the three of them.

But Death continued smiling. "Death cannot be escaped. That is the rule. A creature may have absolutely no concept of death, but the only difference is that when death descends upon them, they cannot see me approaching."

"Then it seems better to be informed. At least you can still enjoy end-of-life care."

Su Ming cracked another joke, but Death's smile did not widen. She had always smiled quietly.

Doom remained silent the entire time. His mind was full of worries, and he hurried along so quickly that he nearly bumped into Satana, who had come out to greet them after hearing the news.

"Oh my, isn't this the Sorcerer Supreme? What brings you to my domain today? Did you miss me?"
