Playing a character did not actually require being exactly alike in every way. You only needed to grasp that character's defining traits.
What were First Born's defining traits?
Simply put, one word: vicious.
His face was vicious, his temper was vicious, and his methods were vicious. Whatever a wild wolf was like, he was like that.
Given that he had no skin on his face at all, only a red skull-like visage, there was no need to worry about subtle expressions either. It could not have been easier.
