"AC! Over here!"
Seated in the driver's seat of the carriage, Jessica waved to Coulson on the rooftop.
He needed to get down quickly. At his age, why was he climbing around and sitting on the roof of someone's three-story building trying to look cool?
With that foul-smelling wind blowing off the river, the man's hair would sweep backward, making his forehead look even bigger.
The AC the female detective called out was Agent Coulson's English initials. Young people all called him that because it sounded cooler.
However, the agent did not immediately come down to join her. Instead, he waved for Jessica to come up, as if he had something to show her.
"Go take a look. There don't seem to be any law enforcement officers, like police, in this dimension. No one cares that you stole a carriage, so there's no need to be in such a hurry."
Deathstroke gave another instruction through her earpiece.
The female detective nodded. She was indeed quite curious, so after checking that no one was nearby, she flew up and landed directly beside the agent.
What Coulson wanted to show her should, by all rights, have been a nest of bird eggs.
Yet in the small nest of dead grass and twigs, every egg looked like a living eyeball—black and white sharply defined, stuck together in a mass like frog spawn, rolling about as their pupils turned to stare at the two of them.
When you stared into the Abyss, the Abyss stared back at you.
Meeting the gaze of those compound eyes sent a chill down Jessica's spine. She nearly punched straight into the nest to destroy those disgusting things.
But she restrained herself. She had decided that everything before her was something that should not exist, a trick by the
