Only the two women remained in the room, along with the giant eyeball embedded in the opposite wall.

The eyeball bulged and swelled, as if countless thick worms were crawling rapidly inside it. The membrane rose and fell in repeated waves. At the same time, dense pink tentacles covered its surface, thrashing wildly like aquatic plants in raging surf, following a peculiar rhythm.

Jessica pulled out her flask and took a swig, suppressing the feeling of Disgust.

She knew her willpower was only average, but alcohol could numb her and dull her mind, making her less susceptible to outside influences.

As for Sif, fighting beside the detective? She was still the same. Though the disgusting sight had once again burned her eyes, leaving tears streaming down her face, she could still fight. The sword in her hand remained steady.

"Why won't you eat the eggs?!"

The giant eyeball let out an enraged roar. The entire manor seemed to shake violently with the sound, as though this was the only question that concerned it.

The eggs—or rather, the eyeballs—wanted to enter human bodies.

Jessica sneered at the monster's question and chose to answer it loudly and directly. At that moment, her figure seemed to grow taller.

"If our brother didn't lay the eggs, we don't want to eat them!"

But in truth, she did not understand why she had to say that. Deathstroke had told her to say it through the earpiece, so she did.

"..."

The utterly unconventional reply actually left the giant eyeball speechless. It seemed unable to comprehend what was so different about eggs laid by a brother. Eggs were the hope of all things, the origin of everything, yet they were generally associated with motherhood.

Monster or not, it had never seen a male lay eggs before.
