A Psychological Offensive

The Third Dimension was more complex than the first two, and it felt different again. Now it was somewhat like a maze, or a terrifying wax museum capable of dividing space with visual tricks.

As mentioned before, being alone was one of the states most likely to make someone feel fear, and darkness was another factor that induced fear.

But there was no light here, so naturally there was no darkness either. The enemy used a black "curtain" to achieve a similar effect, which was close enough.

After Jessica led the team in breaking through the First Dimension's core node, the Second Dimension immediately had a stress response. Those plants went mad, as if they wanted to tear apart and devour every living person inside.

The Third Dimension should have undergone some changes as well, such as the scene before them.

They had not found the real sisters, Gamora and Nebula, but Su Ming's group had accidentally found the true chosen one instead: the slightly chubby, cheerful-looking Squirrel Girl.

She was currently facing a horrifying scene. The enemy seemed to know her very well, or perhaps it could read her fears, so it had created an apocalyptic situation for Squirrel Girl.

In a brightly lit area stood a huge supermarket, where Squirrel Girl was checking out at the register.

Happily, she took all sorts of discounted goods from her shopping cart and placed them on the counter. Her big tail swayed as she hummed a tune and waited for the cashier to scan them.

"Beep beep beep beep."

The cashier was obviously a dummy. Aside from the group from Earth, every other living thing in this dimension could only be enemies or the enemy's illusion. But Squirrel Girl, who had absolutely no resistance to discounted merchandise, had clearly been fooled.
