Amid the roaring flames, Batwoman and Doomsday Blues stared silently at each other. The crackling of the fire made the atmosphere even tenser. Being trapped in a burning building was clearly the perfect setting for a final showdown.
Both of them were making small movements with their fingers. One was forming hand seals to cast a spell, while the other was simply imitating the gestures for fun.
"Looks like you really are different from Batwoman. According to my research, if it were her, she would have attacked me from behind, cut out my gallbladder first, or broken a few bones."
"Heh. That's really just a sign of insecurity. She lacks confidence in her own methods of torturing people. John, I can call you that, right?"
The dart in Zorn Batman's hand was still spinning as he said with a smile:
"I'm different. I learned plenty of good things from Deathstroke and Luthor. I'll catch you and work you over slowly. Brief fear can't compare to being trapped in fear forever."
"Oh? Then I'd like to give it a try. I was modeled after Constantine of Earth-0, the version of him born from madness and darkness. I have all the memories of another Constantine, including the suffering he endured in Hell."
Doomsday Blues threw open his trench coat, revealing dense arrays and incantations lining the inside of his clothes.
"Maybe I can rate the mouths of you and a few Satans."
"Heh, forget the ratings. After all, I'm not some devil. Is your magic ready? Hurry up. I'm a little pressed for time tonight." Zorn laughed and urged him again. He caught the spinning Batarang and assumed a fighting stance.
"Here it comes!"
Doomsday Blues shouted. His hands twisted as though they were cramping, and after a flurry of wild, flower-shaking
