Nearly every television channel was broadcasting the news. The topic had shifted from people buying spaceships to head into space to enormous unidentified statues appearing on the seafloor.
Although these colossal figures were either standing motionlessly in place or slowly advancing toward land, showing no aggression for the moment, the battle-hardened Justice League, all veterans from DC, keenly sensed that they were nothing good.
It wasn't as if giant ancient people had emerged from the ocean just to come ashore and go shopping for spaceships, was it?
"Stop showing off the new body Deathstroke gave you." Green Lantern John patted Cyborg on the butt and headed toward the backyard with a grin. "Talking about 'warming up your seat' and 'burning your fingers'—aren't you just comparing it to your old metal body? Look at you."
Cyborg's old body had been made of Promethium Alloy. It had actually been quite good—heat-resistant, sturdy, and even somewhat magically resistant.
But Little Black Guy clearly preferred his current flesh-and-blood body. Though he had only made do by fitting an octopus in the important area for now, Deathstroke had promised to get him a better replacement when conditions allowed.
The Justice League had stayed in the 40K side for so long not only because of their earlier drunkenness, but also because Cyborg wanted to wait for Deathstroke to return. He had gotten a haircut and no longer looked much like Grandma Yang,
