In the past, the Berserkers of Scandinavia on Earth were the most famous—the sort of mad warriors who wielded an axe in each hand, wore animal pelts, and charged their enemies with wild howls in battle.
It was not that there were really that many lunatics. Rather, Scandinavian tradition included the custom of eating poisonous mushrooms before going into battle. Their active ingredient was Ibotenic Acid. These mushrooms caused all kinds of hallucinations, numbed pain and fear, and filled the heart with baseless rage, leaving one desperate to kill.
These mushrooms were called Berserker Mushrooms. Legend had it they had the classic red-cap, white-stem appearance. Supposedly, the big mushroom that made the plumber stronger after he ate it in Super Mario was one of these things.
Su Ming had no interest in mushrooms that made people bigger, but he was rather curious about the flowers that let people spit fireballs after eating them. Could they be some kind of especially spicy seasoning? Maybe he could get some for grilling meat?
In any case, when Su Ming saw the foam at the corner of Thanos's mouth, his mind instinctively went to poisonous mushrooms. He had never underestimated the "madness" of the Mad Titan, so naturally, he did not expect the purple giant to truly obey his orders completely in this battle.
It was understandable. His Goddess had been kidnapped, and so much time had passed. Perhaps all sorts of things had already been done to her. How could he not be angry?
Forget him—any man would be consumed by rage.
Though Thanos was an Alien, Su Ming could understand him from a man's perspective. In fact, when he had assigned Thanos as the vanguard, he had not given him any tactical arrangements at all.
