The answer was simple. This palace-like building stood in the center of the enormous square city, more than fifty kilometers from the breach in the city wall. After entering the city, the zombies would definitely go "opening blind boxes" in the various buildings along the streets for food. They would not rush straight here immediately.
The elves also needed to gather intelligence, figure out what the zombies were capable of, and make strategic preparations before they could go to war.
So Su Ming estimated that the battle would begin a few hours from now. This was the perfect time to prepare the seafood for the hot pot.
"Adjutant, are you online?"
Conjuring a huge squid with Dark Quantum, Su Ming dismembered it as he called out toward empty air.
"Quantum Communication protocol deployment complete. I'm here, Sheriff." The Adjutant's projection appeared there. She looked as though she were sitting on the flying carpet as well, and she smiled and waved at Ciri. "Hi, Ciri. Long time no see. We talk often, but we could only hear each other's voices. It's still not as good as meeting face-to-face."
"You've become prettier, Sister Adjutant. I missed you too, but Witchers can't stay in one place. We're like dandelions, used to wandering everywhere."
Ciri adjusted the hair hanging beside her ear and smiled as she reached out to take the Adjutant's hand. Yet just as she realized the other woman was a projection and should not have had a physical body, she truly grasped the Adjutant's hand.
Ciri's eyes widened as she failed to understand what was happening.
"Just as you thought, this is a
