The night was dark and the wind was high, and all was silent. Only the occasional passenger plane flying overhead brought a roar that made their eardrums swell.

For example, if Batman suddenly appeared in Barry's home one night, and when The Flash got up in the middle of the night for some water, Batman sprang out from the darkness behind the refrigerator and said, "The Flash, I want to make a deal with you."
The startled Barry would definitely ask, "What kind of deal? Could we maybe not discuss it in the middle of the night?"
That was a normal person's reaction. Even when facing Batman, you still had to ask questions when you had them.
