But Raven was the one guarding him. The girl had never been much of a talker around strangers. No matter what he said, she merely watched him calmly, as though she could see through a person's innermost thoughts that way.
Of course, that was impossible. Raven's magical system came from Trigon. The fact that he was called a demon meant that the nature of his power was extremely close to Hell's. Perhaps he had a few more spatial tricks, but overall, he was not Satan, merely a demon god from a High Dimension.
The magic Raven could use came from him, from the darkness within her heart. It possessed violent destructive power and an eerie sense of terror.
She could use magic to evaporate a person's blood, turning it into red mist that sprayed from their seven orifices. She could also summon dark servants, forming tentacles or other monsters for physical attacks. She could even unleash energy detonations, destroying enemies through the purest form of energy attack.
But using magic to probe another person's thoughts? That was beyond her capabilities. Not even Zatanna's Backward Speech Magic could do that.
At present, the only known person capable of using magic to read minds was Lucifer. But if someone's willpower was too strong, even that method would fail.
