The underground was pitch-black, but fortunately, the light switch was not far away. Mindy was the first to step off the lift platform and turn on the lights. As the base gradually lit up, she grinned at Batwoman and the chimpanzee.

That was all perfectly normal.
But this place looked like an underground auto repair shop, the kind used for illegally modifying race cars.
There was no high-tech stuff here. Several television sets sat on a table, serving as their surveillance equipment. Apart from that, there was a huge Round Table and a small amount of engineering equipment.
That sounded like something, but in essence, it was just welding gear, electric cutters, angle grinders, electric wrenches, and the like.

"Your father named his team the Justice League too, and this place isn't called the Hall of Justice. I think he was right." Detective Chimp sighed and climbed back onto Deathstroke's shoulder, squatting there as he gave up all hope of bathing.
This place really could only be called Sweet Haven, because any other name would lack the emotional warmth needed to make up for its severe shortcomings.
Take the lift leading in and out of this secret base, for example. It did not even have a door. Forget safety—could it even keep anything secret?
