As a reasonably knowledgeable warlock, he had naturally seen plenty of bizarre monsters. There were even evil entities that specifically dwelled in dog shit.
But whether he had drunk too much over the years or his Cancer Cells had spread to his brain, after staring at it for so long, he simply could not remember any descriptions of this invisible monster.
Generally speaking, invisibility coupled with physical immunity was standard equipment for ghost-type monsters. Without those two abilities, they would be too embarrassed to come out and call themselves ghosts.
But this dog-like yet not-quite-dog thing before them was clearly not a ghost. Otherwise, it should have immediately sensed the shotgun loaded with holy-water shells in his hands.
Genuine Number Seven Holy Water was the purest crystallization of positive energy. An ordinary ghost would flee dozens of miles at the slightest whiff of it.
But that stuff could only be found in the Angel Rebirth Pool of Seventh Heaven. There was none to be found in the main Material World, so one had to try their luck with plane merchants and Astral Plane mages. It was also exorbitantly expensive and required a tremendous price in exchange.
