At the empty long table, only Lucifer at the head, Deathstroke at the far end, and lonely Madness remained.
A spotless white tablecloth covered the table. A bottle of red wine sat before the Fallen Angel, an ashtray had appeared before Deathstroke, and there was nothing before Madness but the echo of her own laughter.
The open space in the garden was brightly lit, yet the temperature was pleasantly comfortable. Not far away stood the magnificent Palace of Destiny. Its master's death had not affected its existence.
No one spoke. Deathstroke and Lucifer merely watched the little girl shaking her head, her rainbow-colored hair dancing wildly in the wind, her eyes wide as bells.
A person could not keep inexplicably giggling like an idiot for long. Madness truly was insane, but her pursuit of fun meant that a single punchline could not keep her happy for long.
So about five minutes later, she stopped. Blinking, she looked at Deathstroke, then at the Archangel.
She grinned, pointed at herself, and raised her two curved brows as if asking a question.
Deathstroke nodded. Madness was unreliable, but she was all they had left.
"You want me to take you to see Mother Night? Hehehe, that's not impossible." The girl wriggled on her chair like a bug, lowered her crouched legs, and smiled. "But that isn't fun enough. This is a trade, right? Hehehe, a trade... what should I ask for? Hmm, I want cake."
Rules, ethics, the Cosmic Will—Madness did not care about any of it, because she was crazy.
Fun was enough for her.
Wanting cake was easy. Su Ming did not even need to act. Lucifer, having regained his former abilities, simply raised a hand, and a beautiful large cake appeared before the girl.
