"There are countless creatures in these universes as well. Right now, they're celebrating their escape from prison."
Looking at the blank space within the Cube in his hand, Deathstroke seemed able to see something others could not. His tone was faintly wistful.
"I wonder if they'll go mad one day when they discover they merely entered a larger prison?"
"Squeak."
Strangle said they would not, because everyone lived in a prison. The only difference was whether they realized it. The host thought so too, didn't he? The so-called Fourth Wall might be another kind of prison.
"I've changed my mind. I won't release these universes for now." Su Ming placed the little Cube on the table, where it looked like an extra little crystal ornament. "I originally thought the 40K Multiverse was a little empty, with only these few Single Universes, so I wanted to find them some companions to liven things up. But now that I think about it, that doesn't seem appropriate."
"Squeak."
It truly was inappropriate. No one knew where Pralaya had abducted the worlds within these Cubes from. They possessed different backgrounds, different power systems, and different stories.
If they were forcibly crammed into Marvel's system, some of them might run into serious problems.
By then, the humans living in those worlds—or at least creatures that looked similar to the host and were called humans—might die in large numbers. The host was not some world-destroying madman, and there was no profit in it.
To use a simple example, it was like buying new ornamental fish from the market. Once home, you could not immediately toss them into the aquarium to mix with the fish already there. You had to let them acclimate to the water first.
What if one of the fish was sick? Wouldn't it
