Before long, Deathstroke carried Kitty out of Ancient One's cabin, leaving his teacher a box of self-heating hot pot and a box of this year's new high-end underwear. He was just that respectful of his elders.
As they strolled through Kamar-Taj's garden, where fallen blossoms drifted everywhere, Kitty tossed its soda bottle into space with a paw, burped, and asked:
"Sounds like there are plenty of options. Which one are you planning to use?"
"None of them. Any method they mentioned will be ruled out as a wrong answer."
Deathstroke put away his extinguished cigarette as he said something unexpected, then rubbed his face against Kitty's head a few times.
"Remember how some 'existence' arranged Supaidaman for me? This is the same. The methods others can think of all sound feasible, but that's exactly where the problem lies."
"Oh? Do tell." Kitty's eyes widened. It really had not considered that angle.
"If Ancient One and Little Rich had known so many ways to reach a higher level in the past, one was the Sorcerer Supreme and the other a mad scientific genius, and both were human. Given humanity's curious nature, do you think they could have resisted using one of those methods just to take a look?"
Deathstroke quietly explained it to Kitty while lowering his head to light another cigarette. After taking a deep drag, he slowly exhaled smoke.
"The truth is, they didn't. Not once did they go take a look. Yet today, when I asked them, each of them came up with several methods. Don't you find that strange? It's as if..."
"It's as if they suddenly learned them today, meow." Dream of a Thousand Cats gave Deathstroke a thumbs-up. It had truly not considered that angle. "Looks like your cautious nature really isn't a bad thing.
