The two Giants stood facing each other. Both were several times larger than the onlookers, two figures comparable in size to stars—one red, one black—clearly divided like seawater and flame.

They could not stall for long. Illusions were useful, but the Colorful Celestials were a race that loved experiments. They enjoyed testing things.
Thus, the silence was quickly broken. Several light-years away, the Exterminator raised the staff in his hand. One end of the weapon resembled a lantern, filled with dense purple radiance. Even from afar, one could sense the violent destructive power within.
He probably intended to launch a probing attack, yet the force of this strike had already briefly affected space. His weapon made the sound of stirring the Material World itself—a thick, wet, bubbling noise.
Celestials were powerful mechanical lifeforms. Both the Dark and Colored factions had been personally created by the First Firmament, but that also made their civil war exceptionally brutal.
They excelled at energy attacks, but when their enemies possessed the same means, victory was often decided through close-quarters combat. Otherwise, matters could easily devolve into endless exchanges of long-range energy blasts, or a tug-of-war of conceptual attacks.
