Hal's hands had gone numb from the recoil. He did a backflip to put some distance between himself and The Spectre. Though he kept shaking his hands behind his back, his words remained tough as he demanded that The Spectre surrender.
He had no idea what illness The Spectre had caught or why he was indiscriminately hurting humans. All he knew was the little Batwoman had told him.
Batwoman had contacted him through a Boom Tube not long ago. She had not said much, only that The Spectre was going to wipe out humanity, starting with Gotham, and that Hal needed to get there and prepare as quickly as possible.
And that was it. She had said nothing about strategic intent or tactical objectives, as though she simply did not care anymore.
Poor Green Lantern Hal had been away from Earth for quite some time. He had probably only returned once, around the time Sara Lance got married, and even then, he had found Earth's changes somewhat difficult to adapt to.
But he had never expected Batwoman to say that The Spectre was planning an indiscriminate massacre. What the hell was that supposed to mean?
As a former host of The Spectre, he had lost those memories due to the Universe Reboot. Still, he always felt that he and The Spectre shared some vague connection, though he had chalked it up to them both liking to wear green.
Even so, he did not want to fight to the death before getting to the bottom of things.
Unfortunately, events did not unfold according to his wishes. He had only intended to talk to The Spectre's host, that former Gotham detective, but the moment the man saw Green Lantern appear, The Spectre burst out of
