The nuclear blast caused a brief electromagnetic disruption, and the flying car took the opportunity to evade every radar and lookout as it headed through the night toward the Wasteland outside the city.
Outside the city was mostly barren Gobi desert, though there were also abandoned factories left over from before the war. They offered shelter from the wind and rain in the harsh environment, giving Nomads and gangs alike somewhere to hole up.
Rogue had chosen one such factory. Everyone would rest here for half an hour while she found a way to ask around about the situation in the city and see how Arasaka Corporation had reacted to having its home blown up.
She had sent her people out to keep watch nearby. At the very least, what they were discussing was not suitable for too many ears.
As for the still-excited V and Jack, they had nothing to do. They could build a fire in the dilapidated factory or stare at the stars for a while.
It was hard to see the night sky in Night City, just as it was hard to find traces of Civilization in the wilderness.
"So, Rogue, did you find out where that old fart Saburo Arasaka is?" Su Ming asked when he saw the woman's eyes dim, indicating that her call had ended.
"He's on his way to Konpeki Plaza, probably to find Yorinobu Arasaka." Rogue had plenty of influence on the streets, and many of her friends were capable people, so her information network was naturally extensive. "Arasaka Tower was probably destroyed, and then he heard that you had appeared. He couldn't make sense of it, so he's going to check on that Relic chip, isn't he?"
Rogue had already heard about Mikoshi and the Relic from the mysterious man,
