Meanwhile, the king of Dreaming, the creator of mortal imagination, the fourth of the Endless—these all referred to one person. He was taking a walk.

His butler and the Great Library's librarian, Lucien, had not seen him for several hours. Yet the pointy-eared middle-aged goblin was not worried in the least, still using a tiny feather duster to clean the dust from the vases in the castle.

The butler knew that his master never slept. He preferred wandering about, watching other people's dreams—or the dreams of other things.

A dog's dream? A stone's dream? A drop of water's dream? Who knew? Dreams were free, and no one could completely control their own dreams.

Dreaming was peaceful today. The battle between the old and new Gods had not greatly affected this utopia. The starry sky within the castle was still beautiful, and crystal-clear coconuts had even grown on the palm tree hanging from the ceiling.

A riddle! When did palm trees grow coconuts?

The answer was simple: when they were in a dream.

Dream's castle was like this. Aside from the main hall and the library, which somewhat conformed to humanity's understanding of architecture, the nearly endless circular corridors and the dining halls filled with all manner of dream-made creations were beyond human comprehension.

It was somewhat like Destiny's corridors, but more chaotic and even less orderly.

"Scrub-a-dub, scrub-a-dub~"

After dusting the vase, the butler waved the duster over a large glass cover beside it. Beneath the cover was a pitch-black dinosaur. It looked like a Tyrannosaurus Rex toy boys would like, only palm-sized, and usually fed on red bean pies.

It was not Dream's pet, nor was it even alive. But it was not a toy either. It was merely a ghost that loved red beans.
