Richmond's outskirts were mostly hilly terrain. The trees atop each small hill were sparse, and once covered in snow, they looked like an endless chain of graves.
The Teleportation Portal's location was decent. It was not too far from Harrison Castle, and Satana had yielded to Hela, giving priority to her opinion.
The only problem was that Harrison Castle was far too famous. If vampires lived here, it would not be easy for them to stay hidden.
Harrison Castle had been built during the Independence War in 1812. This place was said to have been a turning point in the Independence War, and one battle had etched it into history forever.
Fifteen white American soldiers had wiped out six hundred Native Americans here—an epic victory. As for how the Native Americans had entered the castle and how they had been killed, no one knew.
However, it was said that the castle had been haunted ever since. People would often see the resentful spirits of Native Americans wandering nearby at night.
That was right. This place was famous because it was a paranormal site.
From afar, the castle looked grand and majestic beneath the moonlight. The silver snow illuminated its towering walls, and though it always felt eerie, the castle was in fairly good repair for one with over a century of history. It looked as though someone maintained it.
Either it had not been sold to private owners, or it had been turned into a national memorial. Vampires were highly capable of infiltrating places, and by bribing people throughout the various institutions, they could easily establish themselves here.
Yet this castle did not seem right. As they drew closer, it remained utterly silent.
High-ranking vampires liked to affect refinement. The aristocratic class did not go out hunting at night either.
