In just over ten seconds, every task had been completed. All friendly units were marked as green points on the star map, blinking as they swept across space like a vast net.

However, the facts proved that they were already too late.

A violent tremor struck without warning, followed by the sound of twisting metal. Barely two seconds later came the thunderous roar of explosions.

The main control computer projected an image of the warship—a longitudinal cross-section. It enlarged the damaged area for the captain to inspect.

"Connection severed between turrets 3762 and 3899 at the bow. Estimated destroyed. Hull compartment damage across the ship: 2%. Communications and energy supply in the forward section affected. Casualty count within the blast radius still being calculated."

The captain looked at the visitors beside him in disbelief. This was simply incomprehensible.

Having risen to the upper ranks of the Empire and commanded a fleet, the visitors were naturally no incompetent fools. Though they were not military commanders on the level of Ronan or Karnak, they were still far superior to ordinary Kree.

"What is the status of our shields?" He stepped past the captain and questioned the computer directly.

"Shields intact, Your Excellency, visitor."

That answer from the computer was even more baffling. What kind of attack could bypass the shields and directly damage the ship's structure? And destroy more than a hundred turrets in an instant?

Even the Skrulls' strongest warships could not accomplish that, could they?
