Human Machine

The so-called Human Machine consisted of seven components. More precisely, it was nine people plus a massive pile of mechanical equipment.

But the people were still the key. Machines alone were useless.

The first component was the anchor. While the other eight operated the Human Machine for Time Travel, he remained fixed in place as a marker, allowing the others to return rather than get lost in the Timeline.

Its role was somewhat like DC's Speed Force "Lightning Rod," able to pull speedsters out of the Speed Force. In the Human Machine, Da Vinci served as the anchor. He was also the builder of the Human Machine.

The second component was the engine, providing power for the entire machine. Michelangelo served as the engine.

Originally a sculptor and artist, somehow, while sculpting, he developed the ability to create External Incarnations. And much like Kang the Conqueror, those incarnations could travel to any Time Point on any Timeline. He had also been the one arranging the entire plan.

The third component was the navigator: three Arabs, known as the last Caliphs. They could reshape the world by sacrificing human lives, though generally speaking, worlds that needed them to reshape them did not have many people left.

They were like people trapped in an endless cycle, representing yesterday, today, and tomorrow. At the same time, they represented the three possible futures seen by the Brotherhood of the Shield: better, unchanged, and worse.

The fourth component, the source, was the final truth and also hope. It was that kid with mediocre grades who thought he was a Mutant and wanted to date the prettiest girl in class.

Leonid hid a secret within himself.

The fifth component was the conductor—Tesla. He was the medium and the element that transformed the source.
