The two men descending from the rooftop naturally heard such a huge commotion.

Da Vinci's rooftop design was like a floating plate. It could dock with the roofs of many important buildings, allowing for rapid movement.

Leo steadied himself against the wall and asked Da Vinci, who was walking ahead of him, "Is my father okay?"

"Everyone changes as time passes. Experiences change us, and some of those changes may exceed what ordinary people can achieve. Your father, and those with him, will be reborn through fire and become more useful people."

Leo stumbled over something underfoot. It was truly hard to see in this pitch-black place. "I really don't understand how you know these things. I don't even know how this space exists."

"Who?" Leo pressed, quickly steadying himself so he would not tumble down the stairs.
