"Damn it, where are we?"
As the red light faded, Su Ming and Zheng Xian found that they had not appeared in some cramped Steampunk chamber, but were standing in a crimson wasteland.
Su Ming immediately looked behind them, but apart from the red dust filling the sky, there was no trace of the way they had come.
The helmet receded from his face. Strangle had already determined that this place was safe. Aside from the sound of grit scraping against the armor, it had found nothing harmful to its host.
While Zheng Xian smiled and remarked that this was damned strange, Su Ming did not rush to answer his question. Instead, he began examining the surroundings.
A little lizard ran past not far away. It seemed completely unafraid of the two men, stopping to watch them for quite a while before darting away.
Blazing sunlight enveloped them, and the temperature on the surface of their bodies rose rapidly.
"We've run into a Ghost Wall." Su Ming smiled at Zheng Xian, pulled out some cigarettes, and gave each of them one. Everything around them was real—or fake enough that even Su Ming could not see through it.
But any illusion would have to fool Deathstroke, Strangle, and Cloak at the same time. That was simply unrealistic.
No matter where they were, if they left a mark here first and then searched for landmarks that could confirm their location, they would have their answer.
Zheng Xian accepted the cigarette and took out a lighter to light both of them. He took a deep drag and exhaled a thick cloud of smoke.
