The Hawkmen turning to ash was only the beginning. The entire planet began to shake violently. Through the entrance, they could see that the buildings outside had all returned to their true forms. This was a ruined planet after the war.
Every building was damaged beyond repair. There was no beautiful scenery left, only destruction and silence all around them.
The building they were in was naturally no exception. The Inverted Pyramid's structure had never been stable, and it began to slowly tip to one side.
Just as they were preparing to flee through the entrance, their attention was suddenly drawn to the seat behind The Keeper.
The back of the chair revealed its true form. The illusion peeled away like soft fruit skin. It was actually a massive Stone Tablet, bearing the image of a stern-faced woman holding up a disc. Upon it was the symbol of the Beyond and Destruction united as one.
It seemed to possess some kind of magic. Everyone's attention was forcibly drawn to it, and they could not look away even if they wanted to.
The woman's relief stared directly at them. In her eyes, they could see endless chaos. Everything would be revealed amid blazing flames, and all falsehood would be burned away.
Then, the raised disc suddenly emitted a brilliant light. Everyone who had been staring fixedly at the Stone Tablet cried out in agony and fell from the air.
That single glance seemed to last ten thousand years. When they came to their senses and crawled out of the dust, they discovered that they had been locked inside the room.
