In an unknown swamp somewhere in the universe, the Legion of Doom had been keeping watch on Earth's situation. Naturally, they had also seen most of the Justice League members emerge from beneath Gotham City Hall.
"Looks like The Batman Who Laughs failed again," Brainiac said to Luthor beside him. In the dim room, both of their bald heads gave off a faint glow.
The alien meant nothing special by it. He was merely stating the fact.
Luthor was not surprised either. He watched his teammates gather around Perpetua while he fiddled with a special little box.
"As expected, The Batman Who Laughs did not go all out. He was merely testing Batman. The facts prove that Batman became even more terrifying after Joker died. Mister Mxyzptlk failed to fool them, and things have changed somewhat from what we expected."

Brainiac simulated a smile as well. Yet an expression created by activating a few circuits and sending several signals always looked forced.
Of course, he had no skin. He was merely Liquid Metal, and the same went for flesh. Beneath his metal shell were either circuits or pipes.
