The Atlanteans really hadn't been lying. The "save our world" they spoke of wasn't the same world Su Ming had in mind.
To Su Ming, his world was naturally this Single Universe, Earth-40K. But to these Atlanteans, their entire world was this ocean.
What they wanted to save was the sea, while land-dwellers were foreign enemies and invaders to them. It was only when Su Ming saw the seawater stained red with blood that he remembered this.
That made sense. Marvel's Atlantis had always kept itself isolated, and Namor had never been friendly toward surface dwellers. Even someone as amiable as Captain America found it difficult to get along with him.
Cap had friends all over the world. He was universally acknowledged as a genuinely nice guy.
"Your problem is in Japan? Tell me!" Su Ming descended slightly and drifted toward the towering Sea Person, his red single eye fixed on the other man's blue skin.
That moist sheen seemed almost sticky. Sure enough, he still couldn't stand looking at it. In his words, it felt like Avatar had rolled around in glue.
"Get lost!"
Just as he was pressing for information, the surface below suddenly burst apart. A golden trident shot from the water and stabbed toward the soles of his feet.
A figure soared into the air, shouting loudly in English that seemed to carry the smell of seaweed.
Su Ming did not even need to dodge himself. The Cloak of Levitation would evade attacks on its own while flying. With his arms folded, he looked at the newcomer. It was Namor.
The first thing he did was inspect the seams Master Trickster had stitched up back then. He had to admit, the workmanship was quite good. Namor had not been turned into an underwater Frankenstein.
