The bombing stopped, and the smell of smoke mingled with earth and snow, spreading wildly across the lawn.

Su Ming put away his weapon and pinched his chin, deep in thought.

Magic Prince did not relax. Instead, he pulled out more rabbits to reinforce the defensive barrier, just in case.

"What do you think?"

He asked Su Ming. In a situation like this, Deathstroke's judgment was more reliable. The smells around him made him feel as though he had returned to the battlefield, yet this was American soil.

Americans had been far from war for nearly a century. Their people simply had no idea how to face flames of war igniting on their own land, and Hydra's army appeared to have already landed. There was not much time left.

"I think it's strange." Su Ming spoke honestly. "We agreed before that Hydra couldn't conjure an army out of thin air, yet now their troops landed far faster than expected. Were all the radars and defenses on the mainland just for show? How could they fail to notice an invasion on this scale?"

"Now that you mention it, something really is wrong, but I can't figure it out." Monark drew a deep breath and looked at the burning magnolia tree in the distance. It had already fallen, and the snow around it had vanished as well.

"Set aside what you can't figure out for now. Agent Carter, could you check whether the nearby communications facilities are still intact? Don't worry, the bombing is over. The enemy should have withdrawn. Their objective has been achieved, and next they'll attack places of greater value."

Peggy glanced at him, then silently walked out of the protective barrier. Deathstroke was trying to send her away. What exactly had he discovered?
