"Which one?" Wang Xiaoliang did not catch on right away.
"The one standing next to you just now."
"Oh, her." Wang Xiaoliang thought for a moment. "A part-time employee. She's in our graduating class and is preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam."
"Why was she standing so close?" Wei Zijin's tone was flat.
Wang Xiaoliang froze for a moment before he caught the undertone in her words.
He stopped and scooped her up in his arms.
He spun around once on the spot.
"Ah! What are you doing?" Wei Zijin cried out, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck. "Put me down!"
"You're just as beautiful when you're jealous."
"Full of yourself! Who's jealous?" A faint blush rose in Wei Zijin's cheeks, and she gave him a thump. "You lunatic! Put me down. All these people are watching!"
Wang Xiaoliang did not want to argue with her about it. He knew she was just refusing to admit it. Savoring their closeness in that moment, he set her down steadily.
"What do you want to eat? Let's have a nice meal to celebrate the boss's wife coming to give us some on-site guidance."
Wei Zijin huffed, but the upward curve of her lips betrayed her mood. After a while, she said sulkily, "I didn't like seeing that."
