Fan Qishan raised his eyelids and looked at Li Xiaoman, his face expressionless.
"What do you want a reading on?"
Looking excited, Li Xiaoman walked behind Fan Qishan, picked up the pen on the table, and wrote a character.
"Woman."
Once he had finished, he pushed the paper in front of Fan Qishan, his face full of anticipation.
"Master, take a look!"
The character for "woman" made Wang Xiaoliang, who was sitting nearby, understand immediately.
What Li Xiaoman wanted to ask about was a girlfriend.
Fan Qishan picked up the pen without the slightest hesitation.
Beside the character for "woman," he added the character for "cause."
Li Xiaoman beamed when he saw it, though he still asked:
"What does it mean, Master?"
Fan Qishan put down the pen.
"Interpret it yourself."
Li Xiaoman folded the paper as carefully as if it were a treasure, tucked it into his pocket, and returned to his seat looking delighted, muttering all the while, "Got it. I get it. Hehehe."
His goofy grin made everyone even more curious, but seeing Fan Qishan's inscrutable expression, no one felt comfortable asking more.
"Me next! Me next!"
Fang Dongxu had long since run out of patience. He walked over, picked up the pen, and carefully wrote a character, stroke by stroke.
"Boom!"
After seeing the character, Wang Xiaoliang understood Fang Dongxu's intention. He was asking whether business at his soon-to-open café would boom.
Fan Qishan glanced at the character for "boom," picked up the pen, and did something that surprised everyone.
Instead of adding any strokes, he used the pen to cross out the entire "fire" component on the left of the character.
A heavy stroke of ink covered the "fire."
With "fire" removed, "boom" became "violent."
The "violent" in violence, the "violent" in a violent storm.
