The moment Wang Xiaoliang heard him, he knew Zhou Qiang was seriously ill.
After hanging up, Wang Xiaoliang had no time to think about the equipment. He grabbed his car keys and hurried to the hotel where Zhou Qiang was staying.
It took ages for the hotel room door to open. First, a haggard face appeared in the gap, then a figure in a hotel bathrobe swayed into view, hanging against the doorframe as though he had no bones.
Wang Xiaoliang quickly reached out to support him and pressed his other hand to his forehead.
Good, the fever seemed to have broken.
"What happened?" Wang Xiaoliang helped him over to sit on the edge of the bed.
A mixture of medicine and sweat hit him. Who knew how many days the room had been shut up? Wang Xiaoliang's brows knotted. He turned and pushed the window open, then switched on the air conditioner's ventilation function.
"Keep that blanket over you! We need some fresh air. Any longer without it and you'll start growing mold."
As cold air rushed in, Zhou Qiang shivered and quickly pulled the blanket up to his chin.
"I took a cold shower and ended up like this," Zhou Qiang said thickly, sounding as though two wads of cotton were plugging his nose.
Wang Xiaoliang rolled his eyes.
"What kind of habit is that?"
"I couldn't sleep. A cold shower helps me sleep soundly."
"Doesn't a cold shower just make you more awake?"
"I can tell you've never tried it."
"Have you eaten?"
Zhou Qiang shook his head and weakly pointed at the boxes of cold medicine on the bedside table.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
Thinking it was a hotel attendant, Wang Xiaoliang went to open it, only to freeze.
