Wang Xiaoliang came home to find the lights blazing, but Wei Zijin was nowhere in sight.
Wei Zijin was neither in the living room nor in the bedroom.
He had just changed his shoes and was about to call out when the bathroom door creaked open a crack. Wei Zijin poked her head out, her little face full of anticipation mixed with a trace of unmistakable fear.
"You're back?"
"Yeah." Her furtive manner made Wang Xiaoliang laugh. "What are you doing? Sneaking around like a thief."
No sooner had he spoken than Wei Zijin darted out of the bathroom. She rushed up to Wang Xiaoliang in a few strides and grabbed his arm.
"They're up. I've already posted them."
"How's it going? What time did you post them? How are the numbers?"
"I don't dare look! My phone's on the sofa! I don't dare check the analytics. I'm scared..."
Seeing her on the verge of tears, Wang Xiaoliang found it funny, but his heart ached a little for her too.
He understood the feeling.
Wei Zijin hated losing, and now that she was openly going head-to-head with someone, she cared so much about the outcome that she was bound to feel anxious.
"All right, all right. If you won't look, I will." Wang Xiaoliang took her hand and led her over to sit on the sofa.
"Use your phone!" Wei Zijin specifically reminded him. "Watch mine first, then tell me what you think. I don't want to see those numbers! They'll make me nervous."
"Okay, okay. I'll use mine." Wang Xiaoliang took out his phone helplessly.
He unlocked it, opened the short-video app, and found Little Wei Interviews with practiced ease.
Two brand-new videos sat side by side on the account's profile page, particularly eye-catching.
