The two women walked through the hotel entrance, and Ma Yuanyuan spotted Wang Xiaoliang at once.
He stood before the fish tank in the lobby, holding a pinch of fish food, his head lowered as he flicked it into the water one grain at a time.
To avoid any awkwardness, Ma Yuanyuan decided to greet him first:
"Hello, Mr. Wang."
Wang Xiaoliang turned and smiled. "You're here, Yuanyuan."
Ma Yuanyuan nodded. "That fish tank and silver arowana of yours are really beautiful, Mr. Wang."
"Of course they are. My buddies gave them to me," Wang Xiaoliang replied proudly.
Ma Yuanyuan glanced around the lobby. Xie Hui sat behind the tea table, boiling water to make tea, with a row of teacups beside him.
"Mr. Xie, long time no see. You certainly have it easy."
"Yuanyuan, are you here on business?"
"Yes, I need some documents stamped. A project is about to be handed over, and I need to fill in some paperwork."
After the pleasantries, she and Cui Wanqiu headed upstairs. A man came down the stairs-the very man who had eaten breakfast in the Gathering Talent Hall that morning. Meeting them head-on, he smiled and greeted Cui Wanqiu. "Morning, Cui."
Cui Wanqiu smiled back. "Morning, Bisheng. Been especially busy lately?"
"Not too bad." Luo Bisheng waved and walked past them.
Ma Yuanyuan waited until he was farther away, then leaned closer and lowered her voice. "Is he new at the company? You're still hiring?"
"No." Cui Wanqiu glanced at her. "He owns this hotel."
"He's so young! This hotel must have cost quite a bit, right?"
"He's Mr. Wang's cousin." Cui Wanqiu raised an eyebrow at her.
Ma Yuanyuan froze for a second. "Seriously? I thought Mr. Wang was different from Mr. Gu. Turns out they're all the same."
