Once the agreement was signed, Wang Xiaoliang folded his copy and tucked it into his bag.
That took care of one thing that had been weighing on his mind.
Li Le was stubborn, but he worked honestly and never slacked off or cut corners. There was no question about that. But he was no good at filming, and bookkeeping and calculations were difficult for him too. Wang Xiaoliang wondered whether Ma Yuanyuan could make up for those two shortcomings. She was stubborn too. If she couldn't handle it, she would say so herself without anyone having to push her out. He could hire someone else then.
This would also put his own judgment to the test.
He would wait and observe for a while first.
He had just picked up his teacup when he heard movement on the stairs.
Xie Hui came down carrying his car keys, his steps very light, and stopped beside the tea table.
"I'm heading out. I'll book somewhere for dinner tonight and message you later." Xie Hui shook his keys. "I invited Bisheng too."
Wang Xiaoliang set down his cup. "Mr. Xie, how many years have you been with the company?"
Xie Hui stopped in his tracks. "Why? Want to give me an award?"
"You're getting ahead of yourself. I was just thinking, you've never been late or left early, yet here you are sneaking off early on your last day. Tsk, tsk. What do they call that... tarnishing your record at the finish line?"
Xie Hui turned back and laughed. "Get out of here. Nobody talks nonsense better than you."
By the time he finished speaking, he was already out the door.
Wang Xiaoliang chuckled, got up, and walked over to the fish tank. He hadn't cleaned it today, though it looked quite sparkling.
