They returned to Jiangcheng earlier than planned.
Luo Bisheng called three times a day, hounding them as though their lives depended on it.
"Bro, you're married now, and you've spent all those days honeymooning. Aren't you tired of it yet? There's a pile of things at Xiaosheng Media waiting for decisions. Didn't we agree to pick up the pace after the New Year?"
On their third day back, Luo Bisheng arranged for everyone involved to meet at Mimo. He also said he would come pick them up that morning.
At eight thirty in the morning, Wang Xiaoliang and Wei Zijin had just walked out of the residential compound when they spotted a brand-new black minivan parked by the road. It had no license plates, and its badge belonged to a well-known domestic new-energy vehicle brand.
Luo Bisheng rolled down the window and waved at them, his smile bright as sunshine.
"Bro, sis." He pressed the button for the rear door, and it slid open. "Please, hop in."
Wang Xiaoliang looked the vehicle over and helped Wei Zijin inside. Then he walked around and took the front passenger seat.
"I picked this up especially for you two." Luo Bisheng chuckled. "My parents insisted on giving you something big as a wedding present. They originally wanted to get a Big G, but I stopped them."
Wang Xiaoliang raised his eyebrows.
"I told them my brother doesn't care about flashy brand names. I drove this for a few days to try it out, and it's honestly pretty good. Fast acceleration, stable handling, and more features inside than those cars costing over a million. Most importantly, it's spacious and practical. When your parents come over, and you and sis put in a little more effort and have a few kids, it'll come in handy."
