On November 25, Chen Yueqing, a member of the Dongyuan Provincial Party Standing Committee and Organization Department Head, and Ma Yongru, Secretary of the Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission, arrived in Qingning City with their delegation.
At the citywide meeting of officials held that morning, they announced the Dongyuan Provincial Party Committee's appointments to Qingning City's top leadership.
The Provincial Party Committee had decided to appoint Comrade Lu Jiefeng as a member of the Qingning Municipal Party Committee, a member of its Standing Committee, and Deputy Secretary, and to nominate him as mayor of the Qingning City People's Government;
It also appointed Comrade Zhou Yi as a member of the Qingning Municipal Party Committee, a member of its Standing Committee, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission.
In his address, Provincial Party Committee Organization Department Head Chen Yueqing highlighted the two comrades' achievements in their previous posts and laid out three requirements for strengthening Qingning's current municipal leadership team.
Among them was "strengthening theoretical education, improving the internal systems of Party Committee leadership teams, especially democratic centralism, and making concerted efforts to strengthen ideological and political development among leadership teams at all levels."
Another was "the Municipal Party Committee must fully exercise its role as the core leadership, strictly implement all provisions of democratic centralism, and continually strengthen the leadership team's collective cohesion. Leadership team members must consciously safeguard unity, uphold Party principles, value moral conduct, set an example, and keep the overall interests in mind, striving to foster mutual respect, trust, and support."
To Fu Xueqian, a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Qingning's Municipal Party Secretary, those two points sounded particularly grating.
