Dongji County experienced yet another jaw-dropping political earthquake.
County Party Secretary Fu Pingjiang was placed under shuanggui disciplinary detention by the Anping City Discipline Inspection Commission.
Also taken away by commission investigators were Gao Xin, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission; Qian Lisheng, head of the County Party Committee Organization Department; Liu Kai, director of the County Party Committee Office; and He Haidong, chief prosecutor of the county People's Procuratorate.
Xu Hongbin, deputy director of the County Party Committee Office, was placed in criminal detention.
Compared with the detention of Executive Deputy County Magistrate Zeng Xuedong a month earlier, this earthquake was clearly far greater in scale.
Of the original nine members of the County Party Standing Committee, only four remained: County Magistrate Yan Xiangyu, Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Zhang Xinsheng, Publicity Minister Bi Hongsheng, and People's Armed Forces Minister Liao Xianjin.
