"Thank you, Ms. Li!"
After returning home, Zhou Yi made a point of calling Li Ruoyun to thank her.
"No need to be so formal, Director Zhou. After all, we're partners with a common goal now."
Lying in bed with her phone in one hand, Li Ruoyun said lazily, "Besides, even without the information I gave you, those people probably would have ended up much the same, wouldn't they?"
"Oh? What makes you say that?" Zhou Yi asked, feigning ignorance.
"Because I believe you didn't strike tonight because you were drunk or acting on impulse, Director Zhou. You wanted to deliberately provoke Xie Bingyi, creating a pretext and an opportunity for your next move. And from the looks of it, you achieved your goal!" Li Ruoyun answered with a smile.
"Still, I owe it to your accurate intelligence, Ms. Li." Zhou Yi thanked her again, sincerely.
Suspecting that Xie Bingyi would retaliate against him and knowing that Xie Bingyi was already retaliating were two entirely different things.
Without Li Ruoyun's tip-off, he could not have gone into tonight's operation knowing both sides and confident of victory. The risk of using himself as bait would also have been much greater.
"There's no need for more thanks. Director Zhou, as your ally and partner, I have a small piece of advice. Taking risks that put you in danger just to squeeze the greatest possible benefit out of a situation is something you can do once, but not repeatedly. I sincerely hope you'll keep your own safety in mind and act cautiously from now on."
Li Ruoyun offered her advice tactfully.
She was referring to Zhou Yi deliberately putting himself in danger to catch Big Black and the others in the act.
She meant well, but she knew Zhou Yi might not listen.
